Vietnam is consolidating its three separate emergency numbers into a single hotline from 2026, making 113 the only number residents and visitors need to remember in any crisis situation.

Under the new system, callers who dial 113 to report a crime, fire, or medical emergency will be automatically routed to the appropriate response unit, whether police, fire and rescue, or medical services.

The change replaces the current three-number system, where 113 reaches police, 114 connects to fire and rescue, and 115 is used for medical emergencies. Authorities say the consolidation will reduce misdials and shorten response times nationwide.
