According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam exported 309,505 tons of coffee in the first two months of 2025, generating approximately $1.72 billion in coffee export revenue. Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Commodity Exchange, highlighted that global coffee prices have surged significantly. As a result, the value of Vietnam’s coffee exports soared by over 37% during this period, even though the coffee export volume dropped by 22%.
Domestically, coffee prices in Vietnam’s Central Highlands and southern provinces reached an all-time high. On March 14, prices hit around 139,000 VND/kg (approximately $5.44 USD/kg), a remarkable 50% increase compared to the same period last year. Experts predict that Vietnam’s coffee prices will continue to rise in the second quarter due to a tightening global coffee supply shortage.
Beyond coffee, Vietnam’s pepper exports also showed a mixed trend. While the pepper export volume decreased, the value of pepper exports jumped by 50% year-on-year. In just two months, the country earned $184.4 million from exporting 27,274 tons of pepper, reinforcing Vietnam’s strong position in the global pepper market.
With rising international coffee prices and robust demand, Vietnam’s agricultural export sector continues to thrive despite challenges in supply. Stay updated on Vietnam’s coffee industry trends and pepper export growth as the market evolves in 2025.
