Tay Ho Ward Police have launched a three-month campaign to strengthen checks on the residence and activities of foreigners living in the area, aiming to ensure compliance with Vietnamese immigration and residency laws.

From mid-October until the end of 2025, nine inspection teams are visiting every neighborhood and apartment building where foreigners reside — including 33 residential complexes with a high number of foreign tenants. The inspections focus on immigration papers, temporary residence declarations, and rental compliance.

By October 27, police had carried out 185 inspections and detected two cases of foreigners overstaying their residence permits. Both cases have been transferred to the city’s Immigration Department for administrative penalties.

Alongside inspections, local authorities have met with 380 landlords renting to foreigners to reinforce legal responsibilities and encourage full cooperation with police. Foreign residents are also being guided to complete digital ID verification and online residence registration, improving transparency and convenience.

Police said the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to maintain public order, ensure safety for residents, and promote Tay Ho as a secure and welcoming district for international visitors and expatriates.
