According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport addressed to the National Assembly delegation of Khanh Hoa Province, the nation has approximately 2,021 kilometers of expressways currently in operation and is actively constructing an additional 1,542 kilometers.

The government has set ambitious targets to achieve 3,000 kilometers by 2025 and 5,000 kilometers by 2030, underscoring its determination to drive the country’s development forward.

A key highlight of the network is the North-South Expressway (Eastern Section), which stretches 2,063 kilometers from Lang Son in the north to Ca Mau in the south. Regarded as the “backbone” of Vietnam’s transportation system, 1,224 kilometers of this vital route are already operational, with 840 kilometers under construction.

These milestones reflect Vietnam’s commitment to building a modern and efficient infrastructure, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and economic growth
